2010 Garden Party

This year's Garden Party will be held on
Friday, April 30 at the Q Center in St. Charles.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, March 17, at 8 a.m. at the FVVH offices or via phone that day.

Consider making it a "girls' day out" and invite seven of your closest friends to fill your own table. You'll have a great time, and will enjoy a luscious lunch and lively entertainment by Waubonsee Community College Steel Drum Band, featuring percussionist and drummer extraordinaire Frank Check.

As usual, we'll be offering our expansive Silent Auction, with everything from jewelry to art; from a massage to great seats at Cubs and Sox games; from lodging in romantic places to Oprah tickets. Many of these items would make great Mother's or Father's Day presents, graduation gifts, or a great surprise for the sports fan in your house. And we're busy putting together our signature "baskets" -- which rerally aren't baskets at all -- but groupings of amazing items, gift certificates, and services, each focused on a theme.

We're bringing back many of the popular baskets -- like Fantasy Getaway, Patio Pleasures and Cold Cash -- and some exciting new ones like Margarita Madness, Day at the Spa, Man Cave, "Living" Room and Uncorked! There'll be MORE winners this year because we're offering MORE baskets!!

THIS YEAR'S BASKETS

We're busy putting together the best baskets yet for the 2010 Garden Party, but here's a quick look at what you might expect. We'll post actual basket contents two to three weeks prior to the event.

AMERICAN GIRL
This basket typically includes clothes (lots of outfits, many handmade), furniture and accessories for American Girl dolls, one or two American Girl dolls, craft kits, quilts and more.

BOOK WORM
New for 2010, this petite basket will include an E-Reader (Kindle or other digital reader), a comfy chair, and other goodies for a cozy afternoon of reading.

CHICAGO, CHICAGO
This basket typically includes items and certificates for fun times in Chicago, like tickets to sporting events, comedy clubs, plays, restaurants, lodging, a complete picnic set-up, etc.

COLD CASH
Just like it sounds, Cold Cash means you win cash.

COLLEGE BOUND
This basket typically includes everything you need (and more) to send your son or daughter off to college in style. Last year's basket was loaded with electronics (MP player, laptop computer, digital camera, LCD TV, printer) as well as the practical necessities like a duffle bag, lamp, refrigerator, and more.

DAY AT THE SPA
New for 2010, this petite basket is the ultimate day of pampering and relaxing, with product to take home and a robe.

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER
The winner of this basket gets an elegant diamond necklace. Last year's was a lariat-style, original design necklace with 20 round brilliant cut diamonds.

DINING WITH PLEASURE
This basket is loaded with dining certificates for meals, wine tastings, bakeries, etc. in the area.

FANTASY GETAWAY
This basket typically includes a stay in a beach-front condo, airline tickets, limo service, etc. Last year's winner received two weeks in a penthouse condo on Sanibel Island.

FORE THE GOLFER
Talk about having a fun summer...this basket includes certificates for golf at area courses (last year, 12 courses), as well golf clothing, accessories, carry bags, etc.

FOR LANDSCAPE LOVERS
If your yard is your pride and joy, this basket is for you. It  typically includes power equipment such as a lawn mower, leaf blower,  snow blower, and fun stuff like a patio set and fire pit with accessories.

GIRLS' NIGHT OUT
This basket is typically jam-packed with certificates for wine tastings, health and beauty services, restaurants, as well as jewelry, health and beauty products, scrapbooking supplies, etc.  

GOURMET COOK
This basket typically includes everything one needs to cook up a storm. Last year's basket was loaded with Cuisinart appliances, bistro table and chairs, an antiqued cabinet, a popcorn maker on cart, and much more.

HOME OFFICE
This basket typically includes everything one needs to set up an office. Last year's basket included  a computer armoire/desk, desk chair, file cabinet, web cam, HP laptop, Kindle, bookcase, and much more. 

"LIVING" ROOM
New in 2010, this is an outdoor room that's alive with plants, trees, shrubs, and accessories to make it a true backyard paradise.

MAN CAVE
New in 2010, everything a man needs for the perfect Sunday afternoon...a pair of rocker/recliners, flat screen TV, and maybe something to drink...? 

MARGARITA MADNESS     
New in 2010, this petite basket is an instant party - all the liquor and supplies (Concoction maker, glasses, recipe book, etc.) you'll need for a guaranteed good time.

PATIO PLEASURES
To make the backyard an entertainer's dream, this basket typically includes an amazing patio set-up, including a multiple-piece patio dining set, umbrella, gas grill, and loads of matching accessories and food and drink.

SCRAPBOOKING
New in 2010, this petite basket is the perfect complement to the MAN CAVE - while HE's watching sports, YOU can create the most amazing scrapbooks ever. This basket will include an electronic cutter and cartridges, embosser, sticker maker, paper cutter and more.

SHE'S GOT PURSE-ONALITY
For the girl on the go, this basket typically includes an array of today's most fashionable purses and handbags.

TEEN-TASTIC
Typically this basket includes everything to make a teen very happy. Last year's basket included an iPod Touch and dock, Xbox 360 and games, LCD HDTV, gaming chairs, digital camera and printer, Guitar Hero, DVD player, and more.

UNCORKED!
New in 2010, this petite basket includes everything for the wine lover, including an array of wines, a 12-bottle wine cooler, an overnight stay at an elegant winery, and more.
