Bereavement Care Training

Bereavement care is a philosophy of care which attempts to put control back into an individual's life by providing support and assistance with immediate needs.  Our 16-hour bereavement care training course will be offered in January, 2008. The course is split into three sessions including Saturday, June 21st from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. as well as Wednesdays, June 25th and July 2nd from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Those interested in attending a training are asked to contact Denise Butera, Manager of Volunteer Services, by June 1st at (630) 232-2233 ext. 219 for an application and to schedule an interview.  Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for Spanish-speaking individuals.  Please contact Adriana Torres at ext. 227. 


Patient Care Training


Experience the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of others as you provide emotional support, companionship or respite care for individuals dealing with life threatening illness or loss, by becoming a patient care volunteer with Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice.  Two trainings are being offered this spring– morning and evening.  Both trainings are 10-weeks long, one day per week.   Those interested in attending a training are asked to contact Denise Butera, Manager of Volunteer Services, by February 20 at (630) 232-2233 ext. 219 for an application and to schedule an interview.  Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for Spanish-speaking individuals.  Please contact Adriana Torres at ext. 227.

Morning Training
     Day:               Thursday
     Time:             9:00 a.m.-Noon

     Date:              March 13th-May 15th

     Location:         Monarch Landing in Naperville, near the corner of Route 59 and Ferry Road

Evening Training

     Day:                Wednesday
     Time:              6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

     Date:              March 5th-May 7th

     Location:         Kendall County Health Department in Yorkville
