We Care Supportive Services

When the diagnosis is a life-threatening illness...life as you know it changes.

Priorities shift, needs change, questions abound.  Whether you choose to receive, delay or stop treatment, We Care Supportive Services can guide you through the entire process.

At We Care, we want to help you every step of the way by providing emotional and practical support along with education from our compassionate healthcare professionals.  We understand that it is difficult to ask or even know what help is needed.  And, because illness affects the family as well as the patient, our team will embrace the family and patient and help provide support and understanding before during and following treatment.

Since 1981 our mission remains to provide the best in compassionate services to persons with life-threatening illnesses.  One phone call is all it takes to get the process started and to receive the best help, the best services and the best quality, emotionally and spiritually.  Our services are provided on the basis of need, not the ability to pay.

How do I get started?

Following a brief initial assessment over the telephone, a We Care Coordinator will meet with you and your family to determine your needs and design a plan of care that works for you. Our team of professionals and trained volunteers assist in helping ease the burden with weekly visits, counseling and medical advocacy services, when needed. Massage therapists and chaplains are also available to enhance care.

Loans of medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, commodes, etc. are available.  These items are loaned without charge based on availability.

We Care Supportive Services
can help with:

•Consultation and assessment of short- and long-term healthcare needs.

•Development of a plan of care with a team approach that includes the patient and family.

•Emotional support for patients and family.

•Trained patient care volunteers provide companionship, limited respite and practical assistance, emotional, social and spiritual support.

•Medical equipment loans, nutritional supplies, and personal care items.

•Assistance in providing choices including: Health services, advance directives, legal issues, community resources

We Care Supportive Services
not only provides an alternative to expensive medical care and equipment, but provides you and your family support on an ongoing basis, creating a comfort level in your home that is non-existent in a medical or nursing care facility.

Our staff consists of nurses, and medical social workers. All of our patient care volunteers complete a comprehensive nine-week training, ongoing education regarding changing issues. In addition, all patient care volunteers are HIPAA trained and have background checks.

When a life-threatening illness turns your world up-side-down, We Care Supportive Services is here for you.
